DES MOINES, Iowa – The Utah track & field team had a great start to its weekend on the Blue Oval led by
Morgan Jensen at the Drake Relays Thursday night inside Drake Stadium.

The Sandy, Utah, native went out and posted the eighth-fastest time in program history with a time of 34:52.98 in her first 10k race ever on the track. Additionally, the sophomore finished second overall in the race and was less than two seconds off from winning it all together.

Earlier in the day,
Hannah Butler and
Lauren Peterson competed in the unseeded section of the 1500m. Butler was the first Ute to cross the finish line thanks to a new PR of 4:35.88 while Peterson checked in shortly after at 4:38.66.

The Women of Utah will have a busy day filled with relays races, starting with the 4x1600m at approximately 9:42 p.m. (MT). Friday's events will also feature
Simone Plourde racing in the seeded 1500m race later in the evening at 6:43 p.m. (MT).
