SALT LAKE CITY – The 2022-23 Utah men's basketball non-conference schedule continues to build out as the Runnin' Utes announce that they will host CSU Bakersfield on Friday, Nov. 11, inside the Jon M. Huntsman Center.
Â
The match-up between the Utes and 'Runners will serve as the first meeting ever between the two teams and the second game of the non-conference season for Utah.
Â
Veteran head coach Rod Barnes is in his 12th season at the helm at CSU Bakersfield in 2022-23. He also led the Roadrunners to their first WAC Tournament Championship and NCAA Tournament Appearance as a Division I team in 2015-16, going 24-9 overall with an 11-3 mark in Western Athletic Conference play. Barnes and Co. followed up with an NIT Semifinals appearance in 2016-17 with a program-high 25 wins that season.

CSUB enters its third season in the Big West Conference after joining the league in 2020-21 after spending the previous seven years in the Western Athletic Conference (2013-20) and the previous six years before that as a Division I Independent (2007-13). The 'Runners were competitive at the Division II level in the CCAA before making the jump to Division in 2007-08.
