ATLANTA – As the University of Utah Lacrosse team enters its second year in the ASUN Conference, the Utes have received praise by earning the top spot in the Preseason ASUN Men's Lacrosse Coaches Poll with
Josh Rose,
Samuel Cambere and
Tyler Bradbury earning preseason league honors.
Rose earned Preseason Midfielder of the Year with Cambere being named Preseason Defensive Player of the Year after winning the award last season. Bradbury was selected to the preseason all-conference team with Cambere and Rose joining the Oak Park, Calif., native on the list.
Utah is coming off its most successful season in program history after finishing 2022 10-4 overall with an ASUN regular season title. The Utes broke 42 school records last season, also leading the ASUN in assists per game, clearing percentage, faceoff win percentage, ground balls per game, points per game and scoring offense.
Rose, a junior out of Atlanta, Ga., played in all 14 games last season with six starts. He recorded 21 points (10 goals, 11 assists) with 42 ground balls and five caused turnovers on the way to earning ASUN All-Conference second-team honors.
Cambere led the team in 2022 with 28 caused turnovers, also recording 66 ground balls and 12 points (3 goals, 9 assists). He was named the 2022 ASUN Defensive Player of the Year and Inside Lacrosse All-America honorable mention after earning three ASUN Defensive Player of the Week nods.
Bradbury, the 2022 ASUN Offensive Player of the Year, saw action in all 14 games last season with a school record 62 points (29 goals, 33 assists). He ranked first in the ASUN and 14
th nationally in assists per game (2.27), also being named the ASUN Offensive Player of the Week three times.
