MEET WEEK
Fifth-ranked Utah Gymnastics continues non-conference action this Sunday, Jan. 22, taking on the reigning national champions and top-ranked Oklahoma at Lloyd Noble Arena in Norman, Okla. The Red Rocks will compete against the Sooners at 6 p.m. MT on ESPN with Bart Conner and Kathy Johnson Clarke on the call in the play-by-play and analyst roles once again, and Samantha Peszek reporting live from the floor.

IN THE RANKINGS
Utah is ranked fifth in the nation following the first two weeks of competition. The Red Rocks are the top beam team in the nation, while they rank fourth on vault, eighth on bars, and ninth on floor. In the individual rankings, Utah is led by
Maile O'Keefe and
Kara Eaker, who are tied for first in the nation on beam, and
Grace McCallum, who is tied for fifth on bars.
Jaedyn Rucker is tied for 11th on vault and McCallum is also ranked 15th on beam.

BY THE NUMBERS
• The Utes scored a nation-best 49.675 on beam last week at the Rio Tinto Best of Utah and did not count a score lower than a 9.90. The 49.675 is the highest score on any event by a team this season.

Kara Eaker recorded her second career 10.0 on beam last weekend in just her ninth career beam routine. She is now one of eight Red Rocks in program history to earn at least two 10.0s in a career on beam, joining teammate
Maile O'Keefe.

Grace McCallum posted a 39.675 in the all-around at the Best of Utah and has only scored higher in the all-around once (39.775 at Washington, 2022). It was the fourth time of her career scoring a 39.675.

Jaylene Gilstrap tied a career high on floor after scoring a 9.90 last week.

CHALK TALK
• Utah's lineups through two competitions have included the same six gymnasts in each meet, but the order on vault, beam, and floor changed from week one to two.
• Utah scored a 197.750 at the Rio Tinto Best of Utah, marking its best ever score at the event with its previous high at the event being a 197.100 (2022).
• Utah posted its highest score in a season opener since the 2005 season and its third-best all-time against LSU. Utah scored a 197.275, only falling behind the 197.675 (2005) and 197.350 (2004) in program season openers.

SERIES STATS
• Utah leads the all-time series over Oklahoma 29-15, which includes a 3-3 record on the road. The Utes and Sooners have met just 10 times in the regular season all-time. Â
• Utah last competed at Oklahoma in 2021, while the Sooners made the return trip to Salt Lake City last season. Prior to the home and home series the past two seasons, Utah and Oklahoma had not met in the regular season since 1992.
• Utah defeated Oklahoma 197.775-196.650 last season in Salt Lake City, but the Sooners took both meetings at nationals where they finished ahead of Utah in both the NCAA Semifinals and finals. In Norman during the 2021 season, the Sooners beat the Utes 197.025-196.550.

UP NEXT
Utah returns to the Jon M. Huntsman Center next Saturday, Jan. 28, to host Washington for its annual Character Day at 1 p.m. MT. The Utes and Huskies will be televised on the Pac-12 Networks to open conference action. There will be various characters and Disney princesses on the concourse prior to the meet for interaction and photo opportunities. There will also be a post-meet autograph session.
