Utah Beach Volleyball Wraps Up Alki Pairs Tournament

SEATTLE – Utah Beach Volleyball played in the Alki Pairs Tournament at the University of Washington to start the fall calendar. The Utes played teams from Washington, Boise State and Oregon in the pairs event.

Bella Vezzani and Rylee Johnson opened day one with an undefeated record in Gold Pool 1, going 3-0 to start the weekend. Katie McAlister and Langley Griffin advanced to the Gold B Playoff championship match after winning the semifinal match in three sets.

Gwen Fife and Sonja Wessel went 2-1 in pool play in the Silver Pool 1, while Camille Lee and Keira Sheehan posted a 2-1 record in Bronze Pool 3 on day one. Marissa Koch and Chloe Narancich, along with Azure McOmber and Kylie Pitzak, won their respective Silver D Playoff matches to advance to the final against each other.

On day two, Griffin and McAlister went 2-1 in Gold Pool 2, while Fife/Narancich did so in Silver Pool 3 and Lauren Sayre/Koch did so in Silver Pool 4. Griffin and McAlister advanced to the Gold B Playoff championship match after winning their first round, while Milan Ray and Sonja Wessel won the Silver C Playoff. In the Bronze B playoff, Sheehan/Pitzak and Lee/McOmber won each of their first rounds to face off in the final.
