SAN FRANCISCO – The first edition of the Pac-12's monthly swimming and diving awards were released on Tuesday and Utah's
Elias Petersen was the first student-athlete named Pac-12 Men's Diver of the Month in 2023-24.
Petersen spent the season's first month piling up four first-place finishes, six NCAA Championships qualifying scores and helping the Utes earn dual meet victories over LSU and UNLV. Against the Tigers, the sophomore from Sweden won the 1m with a score of 325.88 and logged another win in the 3m with 372.98 points. After posting NCAA qualifying marks during a pair of meets with Arizona, Petersen was back atop the podium on Saturday in Las Vegas. He recorded marks of 318.30 in the 1m and 381.15 in the 3m to snag the top spot in both competitions and help the Utes defeat the Rebels.
This is the third time in Petersen's Utah career he's been chosen for one of the Pac-12's regular awards. He was twice named diver of the week by the conference during the 2022-23 campaign.
