SALT LAKE CITY – The University of Utah Lacrosse program brought in speed, size and depth to the roster during the early signing period this week, welcoming 14 newcomers to the reigning ASUN Championship squad.
The 14 signees include student-athletes from Minnesota, British Columbia, Connecticut, New York, Maryland, Ohio, Kansas, Virginia, New Jersey, Georgia, Colorado and Utah.
Among the newcomers, five will play on the attack, five in the midfield, three on defense and one at goalkeeper. The group includes All-Americans, All-State, All-Conference and All-Section selections along with multiple sport athletes that will continue to grow the program in its upward trajectory.
The Utes won its first ASUN Championship in 2023 with an 11-9 victory over Air Force to earn its first NCAA Championship berth. Utah has also won back-to-back ASUN regular season titles after going 5-0 in conference play in 2022 and 9-0 in 2023.
Twenty-two of Utah's 34 program wins have come in the last two seasons (65%) with the Utes winning a school record 11 games in a row heading into the NCAA Championships in 2023. Last season, Utah was one of just five Division I schools that finished conference play undefeated with its win percentage ranking seventh nationally prior to postseason.
