PRINCETON, N.J. –
Kathryn Grant took first place in the women's platform and three more Utes finished with personal bests on Sunday for the University of Utah diving team on the final day of the Big Al Invite at the DeNunzio Pool in Princeton, N.J.
"We had an incredible weekend and meet for us out here at Princeton," said head diving coach
Richard Marschner. "Coming into the meet I knew winning six of the seven events was a possibility but to actually go out and accomplish it is simply amazing. The meet field had numerous NCAA qualifiers, so it took a truly great effort to accomplish what we did as a team. We finished really strong today on platform as Sydney, Elias and Jake all set new personal bests as we added some new dives to the mix for them. It was a great way to end the fall portion of the season and we have a lot to look forward to as we head into the break."
Grant finished nearly 15 points ahead of the field by piling up 269.90 points, giving her four first-place finishes on the year. This performance also comes after Grant topped the leaderboard in both the 1m and 3m during Utah's most recent dual meet. Right behind Grant in the standings was
Holly Waxman, whose total of 255.15 put her in second and
Sydney Kowalski also collected a top 10 finish and a personal-best with a mark of 212.15. Grant and Waxman's performances both surpassed the NCAA Championships qualifying standard.
In the men's platform,
Elias Petersen and
Jake Suchowski both earned spots in the top five and recorded personal-bests of their own. Petersen took third with a total of 291.85 and Suchowski collected a fourth-place finish by racking up 253.10 points.

The next competition on the docket for the Utes is the Utah Winter Classic, which will be held at the Ute Natatorium on Dec. 16.
