McDivitt one of only 35 swimmers and divers to garner this recognition
SALT LAKE CITYÂ -Â The College Sports Communicators released its list of 35 Division I swimming and diving student-athletes who were named Academic All-Americans on Tuesday and Utah's Luke McDivitt earned a spot on the second-team.
This selection adds to a list of academic achievements for McDivitt that already includes being a three-time College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America Scholar All-American and twice landing on the Pac-12 All-Academic roster.
McDivitt owns a sparkling 3.94 GPA as he attempts to earn his masters degree in Mechanical Engineering and he's crafted that while collecting a number of athletics accomplishments that includes receiving the 2020 Pac-12 Diver of the Year award and being named an All-American in back-to-back seasons. McDivitt will have the chance to repeat that feat starting on Thursday when he competes at the 2023 NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships.
In order to be eligible for the CSC All-American Team, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher and must have competed in at least 50% of their team's matches during the year. Additionally, they must have completed at least one full calendar year at their current institution.Â
