Utah falls 4-0 to Arizona State

The University of Utah women's tennis team played the Arizona State Sun Devils this afternoon in Tempe, AZ. The Utes lost the match 4-0.
The Utes had a rough start to the match with doubles. Samantha Horwood and Katya Townsend were defeated by ASU team, Sedona Gallagher and Giulia Morlet, 6-0. Marcela Lopez and Kaila Barksdale finished closely behind them, losing to Marianna Argyrokastriti and Chelsea Fontenel, 6-3. Anastasia Goncharova and Madison Tattini's match against 20th ranked Domenika Turkovic and Patricija Spaka was left unfinished.
Utah's bad luck continued into singles with Lopez losing to Gallagher, 6-1, 6-2. Tattini was defeated by Morlet, 6-2, 6-2. Townsend was unable to down 23rd ranked Fontenel, 6-3, 6-1, giving Arizona State the final point they needed to win the match.

Utah Women's tennis is set to take on the Colorado Buffaloes away for their last match of the season on Friday April 21st at 1:30 p.m.
