Jordan Hyde and
Joey Boylston were honored by the ASUN today, earning offensive and defensive player of the week.
It is Hyde's second honor of his career after earning the recognition once last season while Boylston is receiving the player of the week nod for the first time as a Ute.
The Utes started the week against Lindenwood with Hyde scoring six goals and an assist for seven points, also bringing in four ground balls. The junior followed it up with a career-high day against Mercer, scoring a school record eight goals while finishing the game with nine points with his eight goals being the most by an ASUN player this season.
His nine points against the Bears also ranks second all-time at Utah with his 43 goals this season tying for the single-season record. Hyde is eight in the country and first in the ASUN in goals per game (3.58), also ranking fifth nationally and first in the league in shot percentage (.506).
Boylston continues to be integral to Utah's defensive success, finishing the week with four caused turnovers, 13 ground balls and one point. He racked up a career-high nine ground balls in Utah's win over Mercer, adding two caused turnovers against both Mercer and Lindenwood.
He ranks in the top-50 nationally and fourth in the ASUN in caused turnovers per game, averaging 1.42. He has recorded at least one caused turnover in 11 of Utah's 12 games, notching two-or-more in six.
