Harry Jerome Track Classic

Former All-American
Simone Plourde made a splash in her professional debut running for Union Athletics Club by winning the 1500m with a PR run of 2:06.47 in the 40th running of the Harry Jerome Track Classic – Canada's oldest running track meet.
Brooke Manson, who redshirted this past outdoor season, competed in the 800m as an unattached runner with a mark of 2:10.09 in her first race since the indoor season.

Nearly 4200km on the other side of Canada,
Emily Martin and incoming freshman Kyla Martin had a great showing at the Ontario U20 and Open Athletics Championships. Emily had a great start to the meet on Saturday, winning the U20 100m dash with a run of 11.76 in the finals on Saturday, July 15.

The elder Martin then went out and finished sixth-overall in the open 200m race with a time of 24.00 after posting a PR time of 23.98 in the prelims. Kyla picked up a fourth-place finish in the 800m race after crossing the finish line at 2:06.03.

Over in the Wasatch Front, recently minted World Champion
Grayson Murphy was victorious in the Cirque Series with a time of 1:13.44 on the 6.7 miles course that saw 3,015 feet of vertical elevation. Meanwhile, fellow teammate Giselle Slotboom claimed a podium finish as well with a third-place time of 1:23.20. Murphy's time was also good for seventh overall between men and women marks.

Keelah Barger won on Saturday as well, checking in with a time of 2:15.43 with her mark also good for 10th overall. Runners started the 16-mile loop at Park City Mountain Resort and gained about 3,000 ft of elevation up to Jupiter Peak before descending back down the mountain. With her win, Barger earned an automatic spot to compete in El Cruce (100k) – a three-day race that will take place in the Andes Mountains of Argentina later in December.

Like her fellow Utes,
Bella Williams also saw success on the trails. The former distance runner won her age group (20-29) with a time of 47:14 – which was good for 13th overall. The 10k race started just above the 9,000 feet mark on the Grand Traverse route before taking competitors up 1,162 feet of elevation with a seven percent grade on Vail Mountain.
