In the Pool

Maddie Woznick and Reagan Catchart finished Utah's day by logging the second fastest time in the 200 free relay, which they completed in 1:33.28.
"Today was OK," said head coach
Jonas Persson. "It wasn't as strong as yesterday. We got off to a not-so-great start, but we got better in the second half. Again, it was great training for the conference championship. We need to train to compete, so we learned a lot on this trip and gained a ton of experience."
On the Boards
Waxman put on Utah's best performance in the 3m and it started with a second-place showing in prelims, where she piled up 300.20 points. The junior from Leeds, England then utilized a strong finish in the finals to take home fifth, with a total of 283.50. Both of those scores surpassed the NCAA Championships qualifying standard.
Sydney Kowalski finished the day in 32nd for the Utes, while
Kathryn Grant placed 34th.
"I'm happy with our effort today," said head diving coach
Richard Marschner. "We did a nice job to keep fighting all the way through the event. Holly had a good preliminary [performance] to take second. In the finals, she was a little off on two dives, but finished really strong on her last three to move up. We're going to keep building on this momentum. I'm looking forward to what we can do tomorrow on the tower."
Looking Ahead
One more day of diving remains for Utah at the UCLA Diving Invitational, which concludes on Monday. The team's male swimmers will return to action on Jan. 19 at Wyoming, while the women's team will face Washington State on Feb. 2.
