GREENSBORO, N.C. – The University of Utah's swimmers completed the final day of the Toyota U.S. Open, marking three appearances in the evening session in Greensboro, N.C. on Saturday night.
"A tired final session with the fuel tank drained, but a great growing opportunity for this young group of talented athletes," said assistant coach
Jordan Taylor.
The Final Countdown
- In the 200-yard backstroke, Norah Hay finished seventh in the A-final with a 1:56.68.
- Parker McOmber took 14th in the 200-back for the men, touching the wall at 1:47.22.
- Strahinja Maslo dropped more than 19 seconds in the prelims, earning a chance to swim in the C-final of the 200-yard breaststroke. His evening swim put him in 23rd-place with a time of 2:02.47.
- Marshall Odom, Will Woodall, Nolan Arnholt and Jones Lambert took part in the men's 400-yard free relay, earning fifth after dropping 24 seconds and ending with a time of 2:28.79.

- Lambert swam a 15:22.42 in the 1650-yard freestyle, also known as the mile, earning the fifth-place standing.
- Tomas Chocholaty ended his race in 13th-place, swimming a 15:35.84.
Just Keep Swimming
- Odom pushed through a 100-yard freestyle for a finish of 44.99.
- Following close behind, Woodall touched in at 45.39 for his 100-free.
- Arnholt dropped time in the same race, finishing with a 45.89.
"The opportunity to race in national finals should not be taken for granted and our athletes stepped up for the challenge," said Taylor. "A good time was had by all and we're excited to see what these athletes will bring in the spring."
Looking Ahead
Closing out their first half of the season, Utah will send its divers to Auburn, Ala. for the Auburn Diving Invitational on Dec. 18-Dec. 21.
