FAYETTEVILL, Ark.  –
Josefine Eriksen's school record-breaking run in the 800m race highlighted a fruitful day of PRs with shifts in the record book for Utah track & field on Friday at the Arkansas Qualifier inside Randal Tyson Indoor Track.

Harley Daniel opened the day up for the Women of Utah, taking third in her heat and seventh-overall in the prelims of the 60m hurdles with a PR run of 8.56 to tie Angela Kaplar (2/12/11) for the school record as well as qualify for the finals. Freshman
Glo Hussey also ran in the event, posting a time of 9.31. Daniel would then go on to take seventh-overall in the finals of the 60m hurdles with a mark of 8.59.

Inspired by Daniel,
Megan Rose sprinted a 7.67 in the 60m dash to take second in her heat and fifth-overall in the prelims to earn a spot in the finals. The Boise, Idaho, product went on to finish fourth-overall in the finals of the 60m dash with a run of 7.61 – which would've been the fourth-fastest mark in program history but Rose currently owns the third-fastest mark at 7.55 (aa).

Bailey Kealamakia narrowly missed out on a spot in the finals of the 60m dash after posting a new personal best time of 7.72 for ninth-overall in the prelims and was also good for a tie with three other former Utes for the eighth-fastest time in program history.
Rachel Bair ran a time of 7.87 in her first 60m dash ever while
Malia Overton posted a mark of 7.91 to close out the event for Utah.

Over in the 400m dash,
Chloe Taylor ran a time of 57.75 in her first ever indoor 400m race while
Chloe Shewell won her heat of the 400m dash at 58.32.

Running in her first indoor 800m race, Eriksen went out and broke the Utah program record with a time of 2:05.88 – which was good for fourth-overall. Eriksen had a little help to push through in the race with her former teammate
Simone Plourde leading the pack with a new lifetime best of 2:04.34 – which wound up being the 24th-fastest time by a Canadian.

The 200m dash saw a nine different Utes compete in the event with Overton, Bair,
Ally Gomm and Rose all winning their sections. Kealamakia registered the fastest time among all the Utes with a PB run of 24.23 – which bumped her up one spot on the all-time mark to second.

Emily Martin was the second Ute to cross the finish line and also posted a new personal best mark at 24.57. Rose's time of 24.85 was just fast enough to move her up one spot on the all-time list at Utah to eighth. Gomm, who was one of the four Utes to win their section, also recorded a new PR time running 25.00 flat.

Freshman
J'neya Hill also posted a PR time in the 200m dash, registering a time of 25.17 (25.168) to finish just ahead of Overton (25.37) – who also set a new PB. Bair competed in the 200m event for the first time in her young career and finished with at 25.53 while Taylor (25.81) and Shewell (25.85) were not too far behind her.

Utah's 4x400m relay quartet of Martin, Kealamakia, Daniel and Gomm battled back to claim the event victory with the program's fifth-fastest relay time of 3:40.58. Utah trailed early on, but a 54.96 split from Daniel gave Utah the narrow edge before Gomm secured the win with the fastest split (54.01) of the race while also running anchor for the Utes.

Over on the field side of things,
Delaney Gates had a great showing and finished third-overall with a top mark of 5.77m (18-11.25) in the long jump for a new PR and move into seventh all-time at Utah on her sixth and final attempt. Hussey narrowly edged fellow freshman Bair by .01m with a leap of 5.24m (17-2.25) while Bair posted a mark of 5.23m (17-2).

The Women of Utah will get one more opportunity to possibly post a qualifying mark next weekend as it heads back up to the PNW one last time to compete in the Ken Shannon Last Chance Invite inside Dempsey Indoor (Feb. 23-24).
