SAN FRANCISCO – For the second straight week,
Jaek Horner's exploits in the pool have garnered him recognition in the form of the Pac-12 Men's Swimmer of the Week award.
Horner took first in one race and helped the Utes finish off a relay win as well to clinch a victory over USC at Saturday. The senior from Waimanalo, Hawaii made his first trip to the winner's circle in the 100 breaststroke, finishing in 53.53, the sixth different time Horner has captured first in that event in 2023-24. He also swam the anchor leg of the 400 freestyle relay for Utah's A relay quartet, finishing off a victory in that race, which clinched the meet for the Utes.
Horner is the first Utah swimmer on record to claim back-to-back Pac-12 Swimmer of the Week accolades. He is, however, not the first Ute to claim consecutive awards from the conference in 2023-24, as Holly Waxman and
Elias Petersen were named the Pac-12 Divers of the Month in December and January.
