MEET WEEK
Fourth-ranked Utah Gymnastics hits the road again traveling back to the Golden State on Saturday, Mar. 2, for a top-five showdown with the third-ranked University of California Bears. Utah and Cal will compete in Haas Pavilion with introductions set to begin at 2:45 p.m. MT, and the first vault set for 3 p.m. MT.
Utah will begin on bars and Cal will open on vault. The meet will be streamed on Pac-12 Insider.
IN THE RANKINGS
Utah remains the No. 4 team in the nation as the metrics have shifted to NQS (national qualifying score). The Red Rocks reached their highest ranking of the season after the first week of competition, jumping up to the No. 2 spot. The Utes have been ranked in the top 10 in each event since the week five polls came out at the start of February. The beam performance continues to be Utah's strongest event, as the Red Rocks rank second in the nation. The Utes have maintained their position in the second spot in the polls for four consecutive weeks, never dropping outside of the top five. The Utah bars lineup has reached their highest ranking of the season, climbing up to No. 7 in the first week of NQS rankings. After posting their highest event score of the season on floor, the Red Rocks floor performance comes in at seventh in the nation. Maintaining the spot at No. 9, the Utah vault lineup rounds out all the Red Rock events to rank inside the top 10. Â
QUICK STICKS

Grace McCallum leads the team with 11 event wins on the season for the Red Rocks. After adding two wins to her total against Stanford, including a perfect 10.0 on floor and a 9.975 on beam. Â
• McCallum's 10 on floor was her first perfect score in the event and the first 10.0 on floor since MyKayla Skinner's at the 2019 Pac-12 Championships.
• Utah eclipsed the 198-mark for the first time this season against Stanford, scoring a 198.075. This score is tied for the ninth-highest in program history, when the Red Rocks posted 198.075 against UCLA in the same weekend in 2020.

Amelie Morgan announced her intentions to return to international competition at the end of January, in pursuit of the 2024 Olympics in Paris. Morgan has been the leadoff performer on beam in nearly every meet of her Utah career. She will look to rejoin the Red Rocks for the Pac-12 Championships on March 23.

Maile O'Keefe cemented her legacy in the Utah Gymnastics record books moving into a share of the top spot for career 10.0 scores with Theresa Kulikowski at 14, after earning her third perfect 10.0 score on beam of the season against Oregon State.
• Utah has had a gymnast named to one of the Pac-12 weekly awards in each of the first three weeks of the season. Gymnast of the Week:

2024 Week 8 Ranking: 3rd
• No. 3 California comes off a top-10 win on the road at No. 9 UCLA, 198.400-197.775. The Golden Bears simply put together the best performance in program history - their team score of 198.400 surpassed their previous best of 198.275 set last season.
• California posted the program's second best-ever score on the uneven bars with a 49.650 against the Bruins. With five gymnasts registering a 9.9 or better, including four 9.95s.
• The Bears would go on to record their second-best floor exercise score ever with a 49.675, highlighted by eMjae Frazier's first career 10.0 in the event.Â
• California would see a perfect 10 on beam performed by Mya lauzon, with five gymnasts posting scores of 9.9 or higher.
