Utes end the weekend with their fourth single-day sweep of the season

TUCSON, Ariz. – Utah Beach Volleyball secured their fourth single-day sweep of the season, defeating Santa Clara, 3-2, with their first match on their final day from Arizona. The Utes returned to action taking on the University of Texas at El Paso, defeating the Miners, 4-1.

The middle courts secured the opening win to get the day started for Utah. The first win would come from the duo of Bella Vezzani and Rylee Johnson, 21-10, 21-9. The Utes added their second win coming from Lauren Sayre and Chloe Narancich, as the pair picked up their first win of the weekend, 21-10, 21-18. In a battle on the fourth court, Kylie Pitzak and Marissa Koch sealed the first match win for Utah with a 21-18, 21-19 decision for the Utes.

Utah nearly took the five-court sweep in their second match of the afternoon, with two courts going into three set contests. The Ute pairing on the second court would once again make quick work of their opponent, securing their second victory of the day, 21-13, 21-12. Utah took a two-court advantage when the pair on the fourth court, consisting of Pitzak and Koch took their match with a 21-16, 21-13 win. Putting the Utes ahead 3-0 and securing the team decision, Milan Ray and Sonja Wessel earned the win on the fifth court, 21-14, 21-16. Utah would take one of two three-set battles, with the duo of Sayre and Narancich coming up victorious on the third court, 21-18, 17-21, 15-3.
