OGDEN, Utah – The Utah track & field team competed in adverse conditions on Friday at Chick Hislop Outdoor Track in the Weber State Spring Open as a storm front passed through Northern Utah.
The 100m hurdles crew opened the day of competition with
Harley Daniel taking second-overall with a mark of 14.08 (aa) while
Bailey Kealamakia took 10th after crossing the finish line at 14.98 (aa).
Rachel Bair posted a new PR in her heat of the 100m hurdles, checking in at 16.11 (11).
Later on in the 400m dash,
Josefine Eriksen led a slew of Utes with a 53.40 (aa) to win the event while
Ally Gomm followed right behind her for second with a mark of 55.66 (aa).
Bailey Kealamakia was the third Ute in the top-10 with a PR run of 57.59 (aa) for seventh-overall.
Chloe Shewell posted a in ninth with a time of 58.38 (aa) with
Annie Murdock rounding out the top-10 at 58.85 (aa) while
Madi Durrant (1:01.01 aa) rounded out the group of Utah runners.
Sophomore
Kylie Hartnett took third-overall in the mile with a run of 4:57.46 (aa) with
Maddie Reed checking in at seventh with a 5:00.01 (aa) mark while
Claire Rusovick rounded the top-10 group with a mark of 5:02.39 (aa).
Caroline Fischer and
Chloe Kockler also competed in the event with times of 5:07.74 (aa) and 5:11.64 (aa), respectively, with
Grace Burnett closing things out with a time of 5:35.63 (aa).
Utah's 4x100m relay crew of Bair, Shewell, Gomm and Daniel wrapped up the day on the track by winning the 4x100m relay event with a mark of 47.27 (aa). Over in the jumps pit,
Shana Van Elderen leaped a distance of 5.09m (16-7.25).

The Women of Utah now return home to the McCarthey Family Track & Field Complex, where it'll host the annual Utah Spring Classic on Saturday, April 6. Track events are set to begin at Noon (MDT). Admission is FREE.
