GREEN RIVER, Wyo. – Erin Palmer smashed a program record that stood for more than a decade in the 100 breast, also won the 100 free and 10 different Utah's men's swimmers captured as least one victory as the University of Utah swimming team took home a pair of wins over the Wyoming Cowboys on Friday, winning by a score of 178-84 on the men's side and 156-106 in the women's competition at the Green River High School Aquatic Center in Green River, Wyo.
"It was a great meet," said coach
Jonas Persson. "We were not expected to win it and we came away with a very decisive victory on the women's side. The men took care of business and earned a nice win as well. Overall, we had a handful of personal-bests, a lot of season-bests, we had a school record and some nice relays. I'm very pleased with how we stepped up and raced well."
Palmer reached the finish line in 1:00.40 in the 100 breast, breaking a mark that was set by Nicole Ligeza at the 2014 Pac-12 Championships. It also improved on Palmer's previous personal best of 1:01.03, which she posted in 2023. Palmer won the 100 free as well in 49.98 and teamed up with
