LAGOA, Portugal – Utah cross country freshman
Emily Junginger and former All-American Poppy Tank finished up their time at the SPAR European Cross Country Championships in Lagoa, Spain.
Junginger was first to race, placing 18th-overall with a time of 15:39 in the 4450m race while scoring for the Germans as their second-fastest finisher. Germany would end in fifth-overall with 60 points.
Meanwhile, in the senior women's race, Tank crossed the finish line for Great Britain & Northern Ireland in 26:15 on the 7470m course as the Brits claimed second as a team with 39 points.
Tank will find out on Tuesday, Dec. 16, whether she will represent her country at the World Cross Country Championships on Saturday, Jan. 10, in Tallahassee, Fla. Junginger will not be eligible to run in the U20 race for Germany due to her turning 20 in 2026.
