WASHINGTON – University of Utah's lacrosse program's
Ryan Stines was put on the 2025 Men's Tewaaraton Watch List, the foundation released Thursday night.
The Tewaaraton Foundation released the names of the fifty men's college lacrosse players who are showing signs of excellence and maintaining the culture of their programs, and are on the foundation's watch list to receive the Tewaaraton Award.
Junior attack,
Ryan Stines, was added to the watch list after his more than successful 2024 season. The North Carolina native was named ASUN Player of the Year, thanks to his 48 goals on the season, and was ranked 14
th nationally, and first in the conference, in goals per game with 2.82. He was also ranked second in the ASUN for points per game, averaging 3.94.
The junior's name appears several times in the Utah Lacrosse record book. He is currently the school record holder for single-season points with 67, ranks third in career points with 116 and third in goals with 86.
So far in the season, with one game under his belt, Stines has hit the net twice and marked three helpers, totaling five points in the first game of the season against ranked opponent, #19 Ohio State. In the preseason polls, Stines received Inside Lacrosse Preseason All-American honorable mention honors, ASUN Preseason Offensive Player of the Year, with a unanimous vote, and made the preseason All-Conference team.
Stines and the rest of the Lacrosse crew are returning to Salt LAX City to take on the University of Delaware, who is receiving votes, for their home-opener in Rice Eccles Stadium on Feb. 8 at 12:00 p.m.
