FEDERAL WAY, Wash.– The University of Utah swim and dive program finished its debut conference season, wrapping the meet with Big 12 Diver of the Meet honors and the men's team finishing in third on Saturday evening at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center.
Utah's men grabbed the bronze medal overall, finishing just under 2024 NCAA champions Arizona State and University of Arizona. The women claimed the fifth-place position, just fifty points behind Texas Christian University.
"No real words on how grateful I am with these two teams," said head coach
Jonas Persson. "They competed hard all week and it paid off. Fifth and third-place is very good for us. Everyone stepped up, everyone contributed and we acted as a true team."
Callie Eaglestone claimed the Big 12 Freshman Diver of the Meet honors after not only making the A-final in all three diving events, but placing in the top five on all boards.
In the final diving session, the Utah women took on the platform. Two Utes,
Kathryn Grant and Eaglestone, placed in the top eight, with
Holly Waxman leading the B-final. All three effectively moving on to the final round on Saturday night.

Richard Marschner. "Callie continues to amaze us and she has proven to herself and everyone else that she is yet another Utah women who is a three-event threat. Kat had a very nice tower event. As a team we scored the most diving points and that has been on our team goals all year, and everyone pitched in to make that happen."
