Utah Loses to Arizona State in the Semifinals of the Big 12 Tournament

FORT WORTH, Texas — Utah took a 3-1 loss to No. 10 Arizona State in the semifinals of the inaugural Big 12 beach volleyball tournament. The Utes season ends as winningest team in Utah beach volleyball history, recording 21 wins on the season and added a victory in the Big 12 tournament to their resume this weekend.
The Utes started by dropping the first two sets, despite the efforts of Utah's No. 2 pair of Langley Griffin and Bella Vezzani taking their second set to extra points.
Ellyn Collins and Kylie Pitzak pulled off the three set victory to beat ASU in the No. 4 spot. After multiple lead changes in set one, the pair gained control in the final points and won the first set 21-19. Arizona State's Tori Clement and Kendall Whitmarsh won the second set 17-21, forcing a tiebreaker. Utah's most successful third set pairing in the 2025 season got it done again, winning 15-13.
Utah lost the final pairing, where Arizona State clinched the win as they now move on to the Big 12 Championship.
