SALT LAKE CITY – After earning First Team All-American status, Utah swim and dive's
Elias Petersen was named Big 12 Men's Diver of the Year, while head dive coach
Richard Marschner received the Men's Dive Coach of the Year for his efforts in the season, the conference released Wednesday.

Richard Marschner were honored with conference recognition.

Petersen became the first Ute to garner a Big 12 yearly award after becoming the only Big 12 diver to earn First-Team All-American status on the national stage. The Malmo, Sweden native made it to the final of the 1m springboard event at the NCAA Championship, securing a fourth-place finish with a score of 389.45. He made his presence known this season, not only with his performance at NCAAs, but with his silver and bronze medals at the Big 12 Championship and by breaking the Utes program record on the one-meter with a score of 411.45 in the dual meet against BYU.
Marschner was named the Big 12 Men's Dive Coach of the Year after he led his to the top of the Big 12 charts. His divers racked up the most All-Big 12 honors of any team in the conference after graduate
Jesco Helling and Petersen each earned a place in the top-three of at least one event. Helling claimed Utah's first Big 12 title after dominating platform, while Petersen found success as the only diving First Team All-American in the conference. This is Marschner's third Conference Coach of the Year recognition, after garnering two titles in the Pac-12 in 2021 and 2024.
Along with yearly awards, the conference announced All-Big 12 team selections, naming twelves Utah student-athletes to an all-conference recognition. The top four student-athletes in each event at the Big 12 Championship earned all-conference first team honors, while individuals who placed fifth through eighth earned second-team distinction.
Eight Utes brought in All-Big 12 first team honors after placing in the top of the final at the Big 12 Championship. Callie Eaglestone, Norah Hay and Erin Palmer were named for the women, while
Nick Chirafisi, Helling,
Jones Lambert,
Durgan McKean and Petersen were honored on the men's side. Twelve student-athletes were recognized for the all-conference second team, including Alexia Duncan, Eaglestone, Kathryn Grant, Hay, Holly Waxman, Helling, Lambert,
Strahinja Maslo,
Brandon Miller, Petersen,
Evan VanBrocklin and
Jakub Walter.
