SEATTLE / ALBUQUERQUE / LOGAN, Utah – The Utah track & field team had another great day on the track, especially the milers up in the Pacific Northwest as the Utes wrapped up a busy weekend at three different meets in three different states.

UW INVITATIONAL
Utah had another great showing in the mile at the UW Invitational this season with a couple heat victories and two top-10 overall finishers in the invitational section.
Erin Vringer was once again the at the spotlight for Utah, breaking the 13-year-old school record set by Amanda Mergaert (4:35.35) back on Feb. 9, 2013, with a PR run of 4:32.14. The Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada, product finished fifth-overall ahead of teammate
Bri Rinn, who crossed the finish line in 4:33.64 for eighth-overall and sit right behind Vringer on the all-time list at Utah at No. 2 in the mile. Meanwhile,
Millie Wilcox (4:39.26) and
Kyla Martin (4:39.81) finished right after another in the invitational section of the mile for new personal best times.

Katarzyna Nowkowska Also cracked the top-10 for Utah, finishing with a PR mark of 4:40.81 for eighth all-time for the Utes while
Lindsey Peters posted the ninth-best time at Utah after she finished in 4:41.03 to claim the victory in the seeded section of the mile.
Sona Kourilova (4:49.49) and
Allie Bruce (4:55.16) also recorded new PRs in their mile races with Bruce winning her section.

NEW MEXICO TEAM OPEN
Over in the Land of Enchantment, the sprints squad had a solid showing as well highlighted by the 4x400m relay team winning with the fourth-best time in program history (3:19.14 aa). Utah's squad was led by
Morgan Carter,
Chelsea Amoah,
Emily Martin and
Kinzlee Riddle.

María Alvarado and
Lela Divinity started the day off with a bang, running the eighth and 10th-fastest 60m hurdle time in program history, respectively. Alvarado posted ran a raw time of 8.79 – which broke her own Nicaraguan national record in the event while her altitude adjusted mark of 8.81 (aa) was just shy of her collegiate PR (8.80 aa).

Martin hustled in the 60m prelims and advanced to the finals behind a PR sprint of 7.48 (aa) – which was good for fourth all-time at Utah. She would go on to finish fifth-overall in the finals with a time of 7.52 (aa).

Running in her first collegiate 400m race, Riddle finished third-overall in the invitational section with a mark of 53.77 (aa) – which became the second-fastest in school history.

SPEED & POWER MEET
As Utah's lone competitor on Saturday at the Speed & Power Meet, freshman
Susmitha Jayanthi opened the day in the 60m dash with a 7.94 (aa). She then set a new personal best in the 200m dash with a run of 26.54 (aa).

UP NEXT
The Women of Utah will get a couple weeks to rest and recover before hitting the road for another split weekend. The distance squad will return to Dempsey Indoor, this time competing in the Husky Classic while the sprints squad flies to the Northwest Arkansas for the Tyson Invitational hosted by Arkansas before heading into Big 12 Championships (Feb. 27-28).
