SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah men's basketball team continues to add depth to its backcourt with the addition of Wright State transfer TJ Burch.

Burch comes to the Wasatch Front after a solid sophomore season where he was named the Horizon League Defensive Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year award to go with his First-Team All-Horizon League honors.

• Helped Wright State earn its fifth NCAA Tournament appearance after capturing the Horizon League regular-season and tournament championships.
• Racked up the awards at the end of the season, earning Horizon League Defensive and Newcomer of the Year honors along with first-team all-conference and all-defensive team accolades
• Led the Horizon League with 88 steals – which was good for No.3 in the NCAA
• Led the Horizon Leagge with a 2.6 steals average – which was good for No. 7 in the NCAA

Burch now joins Alec Anigbata, Taison Chatman, Jackson Holcombe, Styles Clemmons, Zati Loubaki and return missionaries Jaxon Johnson and David Katoa for the 2026-27 men's basketball season.
