PALO ALTO, Calif. – The Utah track & field team wrapped up day one at the Stanford Invitational with another solid showing on the oval on Friday at Cobb Track & Angell Field.

Mackenzie Rogers and
Sona Kourilova got the day going for Utah on The Farm in the 3000m steeplechase. Rogers nearly had a four-second PR after crossing the finish line at 10:06.95 for eighth-overall in her heat to see herself move into the No.2. spot on the all-time list at Utah. Meanwhile, Kourilova improved her hold on the No. 3 spot after she took runner-up honors in her section of the race with a PR mark of 10:10.47.

Among the trio of Utes in the 5000m run, freshman
Emily Junginger was the first to finish as she kept pace with the lead pack from the start. Friday's 5k was also Junginger's first time running the event this outdoor season as she clocked a time of 15:58.50 for sixth-overall in her section and moved into the No. 10 spot on the all-time list at Utah. Teammates
Josie Fale (16:11.54) and
Lindsey Peters (16:15.10) finished one after the other later on to complete the race for the Women of Utah.

Between the steeplechase and 5k,
Kyla Martin (4:24.27) and
Grace Moroney (4:27.38) competed in separate sections of the 1500m race.

Annastasia Peters closed out the evening for Utah on The Farm in the 10,000m run, finishing with a time of 32:45.80 for 14th-overall and the third-fastest time in the Utah record books. The Post Falls, Idaho, product shaved off just over a minute and 10 seconds from her previous PR on Friday.
