SALT LAKE CITY — Avery Neff is the WCGA Gymnast of the Year for region 2 (North Central) after a stellar second season with the Red Rocks.
Utah's sophomore sensation has racked up 27 victories in 2026 alone and 35 wins total in her career including
back-to-back regional all-around crowns. The South Jordan Native will look to add to that count at the National Championship where she will compete for the all-around title as an individual on April 16.
Â
Neff has quickly made a name for herself as one of the best in college gymnastics,
earning Big 12 Gymnast of the Year after earning Newcomer of the Year in her freshman season, and currently sits as an
eight-time All-American (five regular season, three NCAA).
She currently sits ranked No. 3 in the country in the all-around, tied eight on vault, tied 11 on beam, and tied 12
th on bars. Neff also ranked first in every apparatus category in the Big 12 except floor where she came in fifth and
had a place on the All-Big 12 vault, bars, beam, floor, and all-around teams.
The Red Rocks star was the first gymnast in 2026 to score a perfect 10 (vault at Sprouts) and added two more 10s to her resume (one more vault against Southern Utah, and bars against BYU) while also boasting career bests of 9.95 on beam, 9.975 on floor, and 39.700 in the all-around which she has hit three times this season.
Neff ended Big 12 Conference competition as the all-around, bars, and floor champion, and was voted Big 12 Gymnast of the Week seven times with an event hit-rate of 96-100 in her career (55-56 in 2026).
