Runnin' Utes Sign American Fork Standout Bryce Mella

Utah men’s basketball announced the addition of American Fork High School guard Bryce Mella.
SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah men's basketball team has announced the signing of Bryce Mella from American Fork High School.

Mella will join the Runnin' Utes in 2028 after serving his mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Accra, Ghana.

Freshman – Guard – 6-5
Orem, Utah
American Fork HS
• Started his prep career at Mountain View HS (2022-24) before graduating from American Fork HS (2024-26)
• Led the Cavemen to the semifinals of the 2026 UHSAA 6A State Tournament as a senior
• Named first-team all-state his senior year after averaging 16.9 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.9 assists
• Was a second-team all-state selection as a junior after averaging 17.2 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.8 assists
