SALT LAKE CITY – Head alpine coach
JJ Johnson announced on Wednesday that the Utah Ski Team has signed Sebastian Hagan ahead of the 2027 season. A native of Gjettum, Norway, Hagan was most recently part of the Snø Hafjell Kvitfjell Racing program in his home country.
Hagan has 11 career FIS wins, spanning eight in giant slalom, two in super G and one in slalom. He was Norway's 2025 junior national champion in super G and qualified for the FIS Junior World Championships both in 2025 and '26.
"I chose the University of Utah because it felt like the place where I could best grow as an athlete and a person," Hagan said. "The combination of top-level facilities, an experienced coaching staff and a great team environment stood out to me."
He had 13 podiums during the 2026 FIS season, including six on the Far East Cup circuit. Hagan won a giant slalom on the Far East Cup in December 2025. His week at junior worlds in 2026 included a ninth-place finish in the team combined event as well as 11
th in GS.
During the 2025 season at junior worlds, Hagan took fourth in GS, 12
th in team combined and 16
th in slalom among five total starts.
