SALT LAKE CITY– The Utah Golf team remained steady through the second and final day of stroke play at the Jackson T. Stephens Cup, taking sole possession of fourth place before competition turns to 18-holes of match play on Wednesday.

The Utes went 17-over (305) in their final round of stroke play to bring their score to 25-over (889).

Senior Jack Jerge had the best day for Utah carding 3-over (75) with fellow senior Gabriel Palacios and sophomore Ivan Enguita each taking 4-over (76) to the clubhouse.

Senior Sergio Jimenez rounded out the Utes' score posting 6-over (78) on the day and freshman Will Pizza ended round three with 10-over (82).

Palacios finished stroke play with the best overall score for Utah, 2-under (214) which was good for a tie for sixth place.

TOURNAMENT DETAILS
The Jackson T. Stephens Cup is named in memory of the late Augusta National Golf Club Chairman, Jackson T. Stephens.

The tournament is a three-day stroke and match play event featuring NCAA Division I National Championship-contending men's and women's teams and top players from Historically Black Colleges and Universities and United States Military Service Academies.

Days one and two of the Stephens Cup will consist of 54 total holes of stroke play before switching to 18 holes of team match play on the third day of the event.

The first 54 holes of stroke play will determine the seeding for the fields on the final day of match play, with the low four teams advancing to match play competition.
