• Utah has scored at least 30 points in the paint during five of its six contests to open the year (Butler, 28). In fact, the Utes out-scored MSU during the first 20 minutes, 30-8 in the paint
• Utah led 47-35 at the break. The Utes shot 59.4 percent (19-of-32) from the field, its best start to a game this season. They also shot 40 percent (4-of-10) from downtown and connected on 5-of-8 free throws
• The Utes did a nice job getting out in transition while stifling the Bobcats during the first stanza, gaining a 9-0 edge in fastbreak points
• After one half, the Utes were paced by JoJo Zamora (4-of-7, 12 points) and Parker Van Dyke ((3-of-6, 10 points). This marked the third time this season that both players reached double digits.
• Utah put six players in double figures, its best performance of the season against D1 opposition (6 in dbl. figures vs. Concordia)
• Kyle Kuzma finished one assist shy of Utah’s first triple-double since Alex Jensen vs. Fresno State in 1999 (16p, 11r, 10a). It would have been just the third recorded triple-double in Utah history along with Andre Miller in the 1998 NCAA Tournament vs. Arizona (18p, 14r, 13a)
• Utah head coach Larry Krystkowiak earned his 100th career win with the Utes and moved to 142-93 all-time in his coaching career.
• Utah moved to 5-1 on the season. It was Utah’s 33rd win in 24 tries over a non-conference opponent at home. It also marked Utah’s 13th win in its last 14 games inside the Huntsman Center, dating back to last season.
• Tyler Rawson finished one rebound shy of his first double-double as a Ute with 17 points and nine rebounds before fouling out.
• Devon Daniels finished with a team and career-high 18 points to go along with five rebounds. It was the first time this season he has led the Utes in scoring.
• After being held scoreless against Butler, JoJo Zamora finished with 15 points, his third game in double-figures this season
• Parker Van Dyke scored 10 points, his first game in double figures against a D1 opponent this year.
• The Utes shot just 38.2 percent (13-of-34) in the second half, going 1-of-9 on free throws. However, they sank 18-of-22 free throws (81.8 %) to help balance it out
