Jeremy Rimes joined Utah Athletics in January 2021 as assistant performance coach. In his role, Rimes leads all strength training for Utah baseball, women’s cross country and men’s lacrosse student-athletes.
Rimes came to Salt Lake City from the University of Georgia, where he served from 2018-20. While in the SEC, Rimes directed strength training for the men’s tennis and women’s cross country programs, along with UGA distance runners, mid-distance runners and equestrian student-athletes. Previously, he had stops in Montgomery, Alabama, at Alabama State as well as Huntingdon College.
Before entering the collegiate athletics world, Rimes served in the United States Army from 2007-13 as an Airborne Infantryman. He served two combat tours totaling 24 months of deployment.
Rimes earned his Bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from Auburn University in 2017 and went on to earn a Master’s in kinesiology in 2021 from Georgia. While at Auburn, he was a member of the club lacrosse program as a defenseman and goalkeeper.
