Kyle Perkins returned to the team in the off-season following a two-year LDS mission at the California Ventura Mission. He originally joined the team as a walk-on transfer from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs (Div. II) for the 2008-09 season and redshirted due to transfer rules.
Prior to Utah
Named first-team academic all-RMAC at UCCS ... earned All-Tournament Team honors twice as a sophomore ... led the team in rebounding (5.6 rpg), was second on the team in scoring (12.6 ppg), assists (1.7 apg) and steals (1.1 spg ... posted a career-high 31 points as part of his first double-double, adding 11 rebounds against Nebraska-Kearney ... had a career-high 16 rebounds against Western New Mexico ... as a freshman, played and started in all 28 games ... ranked second on the team in steals (1.1 spg), third in rebounding (4.6 rpg) and fifth in scoring (7.3 ppg).

Named first-team All-Southwest League as both a junior and senior at Montezuma-Cortez High School ... averaged 21.9 points per game for the Panthers in 2005-06 ... knocked down a career-high 38 points against Blanding High School ... named Class 4A all-state honorable mention by the Rocky Mountain News ... member of the National Honor Society with a 3.9 GPA.
