EL PASO, Texas (AP) - Alex Jensen scored a career-high 22 points and grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds Saturday as Utah beat Texas-El Paso 64-54.
Jensen hit seven of his nine field goal attempts and had three blocks as the Utes (16-4, 6-0 Western Athletic Conference) won their 11th in a row and remained atop the WAC's Pacific Division.
The UTEP Miners (12-8, 4-3) led 47-43 with 6:50 left in the game until Utah went on an 8-0 run to take a 51-47 lead with 3:49 left. The Utes never trailed after that.
Andre Miller scored 17 points and pulled down seven rebounds and Hanno Mottolo added 10 points for the Utes.
UTEP was led by Sharif Fajardo, who scored 12 points. Brandon Wolfram and William Smith added 10 points apiece.
The Miners had trouble penetrating Utah's defense all evening, hitting just 33 percent (16-of-48) of their field goal tries.
