SALT LAKE CITY ? After three days of competition, the Denver Pioneers continue to hold on to first place in the University of Utah Ski Invitational, leading Colorado, 394.5 to 381. The third place Utes gained on Colorado, decreasing its lead from 38 points after two days, to 30 points after three. New Mexico is in fourth and Alaska Anchorage rounds out the top five.
Christian Hunter from Denver won the men's slalom, finishing in 1'32.51. Utah had a pair of third and fourth place finishes in the men's and women's events as Jernej Bukovec placed third and Jed Schuetze fourth in their debut races as Utes.
In the women's slalom, Denver's Cecilie Hagen Larsen completed a Denver sweep of first place finishes skiing in first place, just .18 seconds ahead of New Mexico's Legan Mullen. Utah's Liz Sherry and Annik Boulva took third and fourth place respectively.
