With the ski season set to begin in January, the University of Utah ski team has been hitting the slopes to train for the upcoming season. The season will kick off as the Utes host the Utah Invitational beginning Jan. 4-5.
The team returns 17 letterwinners from last season, and with the addition of new talent, the Utes are looking to improve on their fourth place NCAA finish last year. "We're here to win," says head coach Kevin Sweeney. We have the talent to do better than fourth, but we want to be standing on the podium at the NCAA nationals."
With hopes of achieving their goals, the Utes have stayed persistent in their training and practice, and are looking healthy to start the year. Returning five All-American athletes, the Utes hope to bring Utah their ninth national championship since 1983.
