SALT LAKE CITY--The Utes dropped the second game of a three-game series against BYU Friday, April 6, at Franklin Covey Field. Utah led 10-8 after six innings, but couldn't hold onto the lead. BYU scored four runs in the top of the seventh inning en route to a 14-13 win over the Utes.
Justin Su'a earned the win for BYU and Brett Lindsey the loss for Utah. Travis Palmer started the game for the Utes. Palmer gave up eight runs in the game. Lindsey gave up three runs (one earned) in two innings of work.
Chris Shelton, and Nate Weese homered for the Utes. Shelton drove in three runs and Weese drove in two in the loss.
Utah moves to 17-18 overall, 6-8 MWC and BYU moves to 20-14 overall, 9-5 MWC. The two teams play the final game of the series Saturday, April 7 at 1:00 p.m. at Franklin Covey Field.
