SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah soccer team signed Bountiful High product Carisse Winegar to join the Utes for their 2002 campaign.
Winegar brings an intense amount of athleticism to the Utes, as she lettered in three sports at Bountiful. On the soccer field, Winegar acclaimed first team all-state status as a forward for the Braves in 2002 and 2001. She helped lead Bountiful to a state title in 2001 and a runner-up showing in 2000. Winegar was an active participant with the Utah Futbol Club in its state championship.
A two time first team all-state track athlete, Winegar helped Bountiful to a state championship in 2001, placing second in the 300 meter hurdles. She earned the 2001 Award of Outstanding Performance for the Braves. Winegar was a three time letterwinner in basketball at Bountiful and was given the team's defense award. Her athletic accolades landed her invites to the Showcase All-Star game and the Utah Starzz Senior All-State Classic.
Coming to a Utah program that had 15 academic all-conference selections in 2001, Winegar has consecutively been on Bountiful's scholastic and citizenship honor rolls as well as the high honor roll. She is the daughter of Rock and Sue Winegar of Bountiful.
