The University of Utah football team was awarded a position in the final regular season Top 25 rankings in both the Associated Press and ESPN/USA Today Coaches polls. The final regular season rankings were issued on Dec. 7, 2003.
It marked the second time Utah has been ranked this year and the second time the program has finished the regular season ranked in the Top 25. The 2003 Utes were ranked in both polls on Oct. 19 (No. 23 ESPN/USA Today and No. 24 A.P.) before losing to New Mexico on Oct. 25 and dropping out. The 1994 Utes finished the regular season ranked No. 12 in the Coaches and No. 14 in the A.P. polls. After beating Arizona in the Freedom Bowl, Utah moved up to No. 8 in the Coaches and No. 10 in the A.P. final polls.
