The top-ranked Ute ski team is home to three RMISA.com Skiers of the Week. Junior Pierre Olsson, sophomore Rowena Bright and junior Sara Svendsen were selected after making remarkable strides on the slopes this season. This award is a great honor, knowing a skier can only receive it once during the season.
Olsson received this honor after leading the Utes to a second-place finish in the Montana State Invitational. The Sweden native skied to a first-place finish in both the giant slalom (1:43.21) and the slalom (1:41.76).
Bright was selected after extraordinary performances at the Colorado Invitational. The Cooma, Australia, native came away with career-best efforts in the invite. Bright finished an impressive third in the slalom (1:27.60) and a sixth in the giant slalom (2:15.17).
Svendsen is the only honoree from the nordic team this season. The Tromso, Norway, native torched the competition at the Montana State Invitational, placing in the top five in both the classical and freestyle events. Svendsen skied second in the classical (14:40.5) and third in the freestyle (28:30.6).
