SALT LAKE CITY - Utah sophomore swimmer Meghan Demchuk has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District At-Large Team. She is a second-team honoree with a 3.761 grade-point average as a business major.
A member of the first-ever conference championship team at Utah, Demchuk finished third in the 100 fly, fourth in both the 400 medley relay and 200 free relay, and 13th in the 200 fly at the 2004 Mountain West Conference Championships. She was also a member of Utah's record-setting 200 medley relay team (1:43.39) that placed third at the MWC Championships. She was a first-team All-MWC honoree in the 100 fly and second-team in the 200 medley relay. Demchuk was named MWC Swimmer of the Week on Nov. 12.
In 2003, Demchuk was named second-team All-MWC in the 200 IM, the 100 and 200 butterfly, and the 200 and 400 medley relay teams. She finished third in the 200 medley relay, fifth in the 100 fly, sixth in the 200 fly and seventh in the 200 IM at the 2003 MWC Championships. She was also a Canadian National finalist in the 50 fly, 100 fly and 200 IM.
