- Utah won its first-ever meeting with Texas State. The Utes improved to 5-2 all-time against teams from the Southland Conference, playing all of those games at home.
- Utah improved to 75-23 in season openers all-time and 67-10 in season openers at home. The Utes have won 10 in a row, last falling to Kansas on Nov. 25 in the BCI Classic at Kemper Arena in Kansas City.
- The Utes are 85-13 all-time in home openers. Utah has won 17 home openers in a row, last losing in 1988-89 to Cal State Fullerton on Dec. 1.
- Bryant Markson had the 24th double-figure scoring game of his career. Markson has scored in double figures in seven of the last eight games dating back to last season.
- Utah has not allowed an opponent to score 80 points in 164 consecutive games that have ended in regulation dating back to February of 2000.
- Utah has won 18 consecutive home games for the fifth-longest winning streak in the nation. The Utes have also won 34 consecutive nonconference home games in the Huntsman Center, last falling to Utah State on Nov. 23, 2001.
- The Utes have held 21 of their last 25 opponents to 60 points or less, losing just three of those games.
