Utah Athletics Names Doug Knuth Director of Development

SALT LAKE CITY - Doug Knuth, who has 11 years of experience in collegiate athletics development and ticketing, has been named the Director of Development for Athletics at the University of Utah. The announcement came today from Utah Associate A.D. for External Relations Chris Ritrievi.
Knuth will run the day-to-day operations of the Crimson Club, handle major gifts, oversee the annual fund drive, and coordinate the scholarship-seating program. He will begin his appointment at Utah on Aug. 29.
Knuth has spent the past five years at Michigan State University, where he became the Assistant Director of Development for Athletics in March of 2000 and was promoted to Associate Director last October. He managed major gifts and annual giving.
Knuth was the Director of Athletics Ticket Operations at Ohio University from June of 1997 to March of 2000. While working at the University of Massachusetts from 1995-97, Knuth was an assistant in athletics development and the assistant men's tennis coach.
Knuth received his B.S. degree in business administration from the University of Connecticut and was an assistant in the UConn athletics development office 1994-95. Knuth received master's degrees in business administration from Northwood University and sports administration and facility management from Ohio University.

"I am familiar with Doug's background and quality of work from the time we spent together on the athletics development staff at Michigan State University. He will be an excellent addition to our external relations staff."
