OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - The University of Utah women's swimming and diving team won its first Mountain West Conference Championship under Head Coach Michael Litzinger. The women's team finished with 679.5 points. The men's team finished fifth overall after tallying 513 points.
"I'm incredibly proud of our women," said Litzinger. "We've been waiting for this since I started at Utah. There is not team out there that is more deserving than us and it truly was a team effort. Our men battled hard and we had the lead for two days, but we knew it was going to be hard to maintain that lead. Slipping to fifth is a disappointment, but we set some school records and this men's team is one of the teams that I've been the most proud of."
