Recap | Final Stats | Notes
Utah Head Coach Ray Giacoletti
On heading into postseason play: "You start out 0-0 at start of the season, and start of the conference season, and once again at conference tournament, so it's up for grabs again. We just need to keep being strong with the basketball and make good decisions."
On Wyoming's comeback: "As soon as you lose focus for a little bit, and don't keep everybody on the same page, you allow somebody to come back. We just need to find a way to get a win. We've had so many close games, and lost on last second shots, we need to find a way to win."
On senior night: "Every year you have a special day in celebration of the seniors. I couldn't be happier, especially for Chris Jackson. He had a tough day today but really stepped up."
On playing BYU in the MWC quarterfinals: "They got us down there, we got them here. We've got an opportunity on a neutral floor, and which team's minds are going to be right at the time is going to get the win."
On Wyoming guard Brandon Ewing: "He hadn't been shooting as well as he had, but once he got in the rhythm, he got on a roll and scored points."
Utah Forward Bryant Markson
"It was a big win for us. Obviously, it got a little close there at the end, but we found a way to get it done."
On playing BYU: "Our goal is to go out there and try to win one game at a time. We realize the situation we're in. This situation is good for us; we get to start all over again. It's exciting, there's obviously a rivalry and it will be fun. BYU is BYU and we're Utah, and we're going to go out there and see if we can get some things done. They play well together, they have good shooters inside and on the perimeter. They're going to be a handful all the way around."
Utah Guard Tim Drisdom
"I was full of emotions the second half. I told the guys we cannot lose, I don't want to play on Tuesday if Colorado State [wins] or anything like that, and it was everybody's senior game, so we can't lose."
On his career here: "It was great, I have a lot of friends and family out here, got a lot of wins, so it was good."
On playing BYU: "It's going to be fun playing BYU. The last time we met we won. I'm sure they're going to come out with a lot of emotions; it's the Mountain West Conference tournament, the games are amplified to a great extent. They're going to come out and try to beat us, and we're going to do the same. It's going to be a tough game."
Wyoming Forward/Center Justin Williams
"Our team, I think, is coming around and we play hard all the time and good things happen. The season is over and it's tournament time now, so everyone is clearing their mind and getting ready for Air Force."
Wyoming Head Coach Steve McClain
"He [Brandon Ewing] goes from no points in the first half to 25 in the second half and, again, as I told the kids, they fought to the end. We had some breakdowns, but they also shot the ball about as well as they could shoot it. It was the tale of two halves, we didn't get much out of our perimeter offense in the first half and in the second half it all became perimeter. Justin [Williams] did a great job. He turned it over a few times, but he was getting to the rim and making shots."
