The University of Utah Ski Team has announced its 2008 schedule. The alpine team will open January 5-6 at the Colorado Invitational in Steamboat Springs, Colo. The team will race in its lone home meet the following week in Park City, Utah at the Utah Invitational. The NCAA Regional and Championships will be held in Montana, meaning that all potential meets will be in the west.
"We are excited to start our race season," said Head Coach Eli Brown. "Having a home meet again this year is bonus, especially right after school starts. It will be good to start the season at home. We have some pretty high altitude weekends back to back at Colorado and New Mexico. We will have to be careful racing at such high altitudes in the middle part of the season.
"We are really excited to have regionals and NCAAs in Bozeman. It is a familiar place, familiar snow, it almost feels like racing at home. It should be a good season."
