Utah Head Coach Bill Kinneberg:
"That was a tremendous effort. He (pitcher John James) did a heck of a job; our defense saved him a couple of times as well. So that was a great effort there."
"If you beat Stephen Strasburg you have done something. He may be the best pitcher in college baseball this year. It was a hard day to hit so if you hit a ball up in the air it's probably not going to do anything. So that means that you have to execute."
Utah pitcher John James:
"I just tried to help my team win and get as many innings as I can. I was just trying to throw strikes, stay ahead, and help my team win. My defense worked for me."
"I definitely wanted to beat him (Strasburg). He is the best pitcher in the country hands down. It's kind of an honor to go against him, but I couldn't really worry about it. I just did what I could do."
SDSU Head Coach Tony Gywnn:
"We had opportunities, but in this ball park especially with this wind like it is. You can't hit the ball in the air and we did a lot of that today. We pitched extremely well. I am encouraged because we have a lot of these kids coming back. But you want to play better."
"The lesson they learned here in the tournament will help them in the future. They can't do it by themselves, even though they tried. Offensively, they were never really able to get anything going."
SDSU pitcher Steven Strasburg declined to comment on today's game.
