Louie Sakoda broke the Utah school record for career points scored (238) and field goals (45). The old scoring record of 235 points stood for 76 years and was set by fullback Frank Christensen (1930-32). He broke Chris Yergensen's field goal record (44, 1991-93). Sakoda went 3-for-3 in field goals in tonight's game, with makes of 33, 47 and 38 yards.
Louie Sakoda scored his 100th career extra point on Utah's first quarter touchdown. He has 103 career PATs, which ranks third all-time at Utah.
Utah held Weber State to minus 11 yards rushing in the second quarter. It is the seventh time this season that Utah has held an opponent to negative rushing yards in a quarter. It is also the least yards an opponent has had in a quarter against Utah this season. Weber State had nine rushing yards at halftime.
Utah held Weber State to 56 yards rushing. It has held four teams under 60 yards rushing this season (Michigan, Utah State and Air Force).
Jereme Brooks threw a 33-yard pass on a reverse in the first quarter. He is 2-for-2 passing in his career for 40 yards. He threw a seven-yard touchdown pass against New Mexico last year.
Corbin Louks recorded his first career reception in the first quarter on a trick-play. The 33-yard catch took him to the 1-yard line and set up a Utah touchdown.
Darrell Mack recorded his 400th career carry in the contest, moving into ninth on the all-time list at Utah for career carries.
Chris Joppru made his first career reception in the first quarter for a gain of 26 yards. He led the team with three catches for 41 yards.
Brian Johnson was 16-of-18 passing (175 yards) at halftime. He was 12-for-13 (123 yards) in the second quarter, including two touchdown passes.
Colt Sampson scored his third touchdown of the season in the second quarter with a 6-yard reception. He has five career touchdowns.
Bradon Godfrey scored his second touchdown of the year in the second quarter.
Greg Newman led Utah with two tackles for loss totaling 17 yards. He had one sack for 14 yards. Newman also recovered a fumble and had five tackles.
Mike Wright tied for the team lead with six tackles. He had 10 tackles last week against Air Force.
Sean Smith had a pass breakup in the game, giving him a team-high six passes defended (1 interception, four pass breakups).
Tonight's official attendance is 45,117. It is the 12th largest crowd in Rice-Eccles Stadium history and the 13th sellout.
Robert Conley did not play in today's game. He had played in 42 straight games before today.
